FAQ

What is Old Dominion University’s Give2ODU Day?

On March 17th, alumni, parents, students and friends of ODU will come together to celebrate Old Dominion University in a powerful and impactful way. Over the course of 24 hours, we will have the chance to show that together we can make a difference!

Where does my gift go and where do the challenge funds go?

100 percent of your gift goes directly to where you designate it.

How can I give?

Give2ODU Day is an online event. Most of the activity will take place via our website. On March 17, from anywhere in the world, you can make your gift as follows:

  • By visiting our giving page and paying by credit card
  • By calling us toll free at 1-844-261-8471
  • Payments of stock (please contact give2odu@odu.edu)
  • Matching gifts: make your gift, complete your company’s matching form and follow your company’s matching procedures.

Are my gifts tax-deductible?

All donations are tax deductible.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. The Give2ODU Day website utilizes a technology that is PCI Level 1 compliant. We are not storing, nor are we able to access your credit card information. Additionally, the information collected during Give2ODU Day will be used only by Old Dominion University.

How can I make a gift “In Honor of” or “In Memory of” someone?

On the donation form, you may include a note that your gift was made in honor of or in memory of someone and that information will be passed to the honoree or family provided that info is included.

May I make a payment to my current pledge with my Give2ODU Day gift?

Giving Day is designed to generate new support, not to pay off existing pledges.

Can my company match my Giving Hours gift?

Yes! Make your gift, complete your company’s matching gift form and follow your company’s matching gift procedures.
